Kitchen Remodeling - Norwalk
This kitchen underwent a complete transformation, converting a closed and outdated layout into a bright, modern, and highly functional open-concept space.
The renovation included the removal of a load-bearing wall, requiring structural modifications and the installation of a new support system to create a seamless connection between the kitchen and adjacent living areas. This significantly improved sightlines, natural light flow, and the overall sense of spaciousness.
To enhance functionality, the sink and dishwasher were relocated to a large central island, creating a more efficient work triangle while providing additional prep space, storage, and seating opportunities. The range was relocated to the opposite wall, allowing for a more balanced kitchen layout and the installation of a ceiling-mounted stainless steel hood as a focal point of the design.
To maximize usable wall space and improve layout efficiency, an existing window and exterior door were removed and infilled. This modification allowed for expanded cabinetry, improved appliance placement, and increased storage capacity.
The remodel also included the installation of new wood-look flooring throughout the space, white shaker perimeter cabinetry, and custom white oak cabinetry at the island to create warmth and contrast. Durable quartz countertops were installed throughout, providing a clean, contemporary finish.
Additional improvements included the relocation of HVAC ducting and air-conditioning vents to accommodate the new layout, along with the installation of recessed LED lighting throughout the kitchen to provide enhanced illumination and a bright, welcoming atmosphere.
The finished result is a sophisticated open-concept kitchen that combines modern design, improved circulation, increased storage, and enhanced functionality while maximizing both natural and artificial light.
